| Fairs of Strength |  | HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), HKTDC International ICT Expo and HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition), opened yesterday at the newly expanded Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Exhibitors and buyers at the fairs are among the first to experience the new state-of-the-art facilities.
To help exhibitors catch the new opportunities arising from the Chinese mainland market, HKTDC organised buying missions consisting of 3,159 mainland buyers to visit the three concurrent fairs, which records 85% increase when compared to last year.
| Networking Luncheon | | There was much swapping of business cards between suppliers and Chinese mainland buyers at a networking luncheon yesterday.
| Product Launching Pad | |  Flash Technology Co., Ltd. chose the HKTDC International ICT Expo to hold a Catwalk Show & Cocktail Party to launch its innovative USB flash drives. |
| Show and Tell | | One of the busiest spots at the ICT Expo is the Oasis, Hall 5 – site of the Software Application & IT Solution Launch Pad. Exhibitors took advantage of the feature to unveil their latest products and innovations to reach international buyers.

International ICT Expo

Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition)

 We have returned to ICT Expo after several years’ break because Cisco is moving into different areas and here we can target SMEs and small software developers. One focus is our IP digital signage solutions, plus our AXP (application extension program) platform that can be tailor-made for customers. One of the areas that ICT Expo caters to is the retail market, which is appropriate for us. There are people from all over the world here – for example, I have spoken with buyers from Germany, mainland China and Thailand.
